Meet Rick

Rick Rettig and his family in the Perrysburg Council chambers.

My name is Rick Rettig, and I’m proud to be a lifelong educator, public servant, husband, and father, and I’m excited to be running to represent Ohio’s 75th House District.

For the past 33 years, I’ve dedicated my career to education, teaching English and Business, and serving as a school counselor for 24 years, including time as department chair. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with students and families, helping young people find their path and prepare for their future. I’ve also had the privilege of coaching golf, baseball, and speech & debate, experiences that have reinforced the importance of teamwork, discipline, and leadership.

My commitment to service extends beyond the classroom. I’ve served as a Perrysburg City Councilman for six years, working to support our community, strengthen our neighborhoods, and make thoughtful decisions that reflect the needs of our residents.

At the center of everything I do is my family. My wife, Katie, and I have been married for 26 years. She is a special education teacher at Penta Career Center with 25 years of experience, and her work continues to inspire me every day. We are proud parents of two sets of twins:
Jenna & Sydney, and Ryan & Avery.

Everything I’ve done, whether in the classroom, on the field, or in public service, has been about investing in people and building stronger communities. That’s exactly what I plan to do as your State Representative.
